The hybrid international conference, jointly organized by the University of Ruse and the University of Craiova under the auspices of the Across Alliance, brought together scholars, researchers, and digital communication experts from across Europe and beyond.

The event addressed some of the most pressing issues of our digital era, including artificial intelligence in communication, communication in wartime, memes and internet culture, misinformation, and the evolving ways in which we interact in an increasingly digital world.

Researchers from numerous universities within the Across Alliance — including Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, among others — presented their latest work. Their contributions offered participants a truly international perspective on the challenges, opportunities, and ethical considerations of digital communication today.

Key highlights included:

  • Insightful panels on AI and human interaction, exploring both opportunities and ethical dilemmas.
  • Presentations on the role of memes and social media in shaping public opinion and culture.
  • Discussions of misinformation and digital literacy, emphasizing strategies for critical thinking in the digital age.
  • Interactive sessions fostering collaboration and exchange between young researchers across Europe.
