The University of Craiova (UCV), a member of the Across Alliance, is pleased to invite researchers, academics, students, and stakeholders from across the Alliance to participate in a series of interdisciplinary events taking place in Craiova, Romania, from 20 to 24 September 2026.
Organised with the financial support of the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research, these events aim to strengthen scientific collaboration, promote cross-border cooperation, and foster dialogue between universities, businesses, public institutions, and society across the Balkan region.
Event Highlights
๐ฌ Science Beyond Borders and Disciplines
Scientific workshop for researchers in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, and Environmental Sciences
This workshop will bring together researchers, specialists, and students working in:
- Physics and Applied Mathematics (4th edition)
- Numerical Computing, Optimization, and Simulation (2nd edition)
- Energy and Environmental Sciences, following the Persian Workshop of TT 4.3
Participants will have the opportunity to present their research, exchange ideas, and build new interdisciplinary collaborations within the Across Alliance.
๐ค Cross-Border Meeting RomaniaโBulgaria
Organised by the Across Border Engagement Centre South, this meeting will focus on strengthening cooperation between universities, businesses, and society.
The programme includes:
- A workshop on “Training for the Labour Market in a Cross-Border Context”, presenting an Interreg project.
- A Business-to-Business (B2B) networking event bringing together companies from Romania, Bulgaria, and other Across partner countries interested in developing new collaborations.
๐ Science โ As an Agent of Change and Cooperation
This round table will explore the role of scientists as drivers of innovation, cooperation, and sustainable development in cross-border regions.
Discussions will highlight how scientific research contributes to addressing societal challenges while reinforcing collaboration between academia, industry, and local communities.

Practical Information
The event will be held both onsite and online, allowing participants from all Across partner universities to take part.
The University of Craiova will cover accommodation and meals for all participants attending the event onsite.
