International Staff Week 2026: Connecting University Professionals
The 17th International Staff Week offers academic and administrative staff the opportunity to connect with international colleagues, exchange professional experiences and strengthen cooperation between universities.
Hosted by Bialystok University of Technology, the five-day event provides an opportunity to explore international perspectives on higher education and build professional networks across institutional and national borders.
A particular highlight of this year’s programme is the integration of selected sessions from the MAESTRO-AI Final Conference, allowing Staff Week participants to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming teaching and learning at universities.
The event also offers Across partner universities another opportunity to strengthen their connections and exchange expertise within the wider international higher education community.

MAESTRO-AI Conference: Teaching and Learning in the Age of AI
Taking place on 1–2 December 2026, the MAESTRO-AI Final Conference, Teaching and Learning in the Age of AI: From Innovation to Practice, focuses on the opportunities, challenges and practical applications of artificial intelligence in higher education.
How is AI changing the way students learn? Can it support critical thinking and deeper understanding? And how might the role of university teachers evolve as AI becomes increasingly integrated into academic life?
The conference brings together educators, researchers and university professionals from across Europe to explore these questions through presentations, discussions and hands-on workshops.
Organised within the Erasmus+ project MAESTRO-AI, the event presents results from cooperation between universities in Poland, Greece, Portugal and Romania, with a particular focus on mathematics, programming and data science education.
Participants can expect:
Insights into the opportunities, challenges and ethical implications of AI in higher education.
Practical examples of AI-supported teaching methods, learning environments and educational resources.
Results from the MAESTRO-AI project, including teaching experiments, innovative curricula and educational handbooks.
Interactive workshops demonstrating AI tools for teaching, learning and academic work.
Opportunities to exchange experiences with international educators and researchers.
The second conference day, 2 December, will focus particularly on practical applications, including workshops and demonstrations of AI tools and AI-enhanced learning environments.

Two Opportunities to Participate
University staff can choose the format that best matches their professional interests and availability.
Five days – International Staff Week (30 November – 4 December): Ideal for staff interested in international networking, professional exchange and cooperation with colleagues from other universities. Participants will also attend selected sessions of the MAESTRO-AI Conference.
Two days – MAESTRO-AI Conference (1–2 December): Particularly relevant for academic teachers, researchers and other university professionals interested in artificial intelligence, innovative teaching practices and the future of higher education.
The previous International Staff Week in May 2026 demonstrated the value of these exchanges, bringing together university staff from across Europe to share good practices, strengthen partnerships and explore opportunities for international cooperation.
