An International Academic Environment during the International Staff Week

The central event of the week was the 16th International Staff Week, which brought together more than 40 representatives from 24 countries, including 3 participants from the University of Banja Luka, representing both academic and administrative staff.

Participants were welcomed by the university authorities: Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology and Prof. Dorota Anna Krawczyk, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Dr Agata Mannino, coordinator of Across – European University for Cross-Border Knowledge Sharing.

The event served as a platform for exchanging good practices, strengthening international cooperation, and establishing new partnerships, particularly in the areas of mobility and internationalisation of education.

Participants engaged in a variety of workshops, including the “Across culture cooperation” workshop, meetings with faculty representatives, networking activities, and teaching-related engagements.

A key highlight of the week was the international conference INNOBUILD 2026 (May 20–22), which gathered around 200 participants, including experts and researchers working in sustainable construction, energy systems, and climate transformation.

The conference created a platform for knowledge exchange among academics, practitioners, and representatives of the economic sector. The participation of 77 representatives from eight Across partner universities (BUT, TUC, UCV, UdG, UNG, UNIBL, UNIUD, UR) strengthened research and teaching collaboration in areas critical to the green transition.

Participants also emphasised the importance of stronger academic staff engagement, simplification of administrative procedures, and the implementation of solutions such as “mobility windows” and mobility ambassador initiatives.

Joint Efforts for the Development of the European University Across

The week of events at Bialystok University of Technology demonstrated how effectively strategic, teaching, and research activities can be integrated within the European University Across.

The strong engagement of staff from partner institutions confirmed the growing role of the alliance as a platform that integrates education, research, and international cooperation, while supporting the development of modern solutions in higher education.
