Meeting directly with students is one of the Across Alliance’s key ways to connect with its community. These events allow students to explore the unique opportunities offered by the Alliance, understand its vision, and learn how to participate in international exchanges firsthand. The recent International Days at the University of Udine are a perfect example of this engagement in action.
From October 22nd to November 25th, the University of Udine hosted a series of International Days, providing students with an exciting chance to discover the mobility programs available specifically within the Across Alliance.
Across six interactive meetings held at Toppo Wasserman, Palazzo Antonini, Rizzi, and Tomadini, students from nearly all departments were introduced to a wide range of Across mobility options, including:
- Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) at Across partner institutions
- Semester study exchanges within Across universities
- Research opportunities and collaborative projects abroad
Internationalisation delegates, academic coordinators, and mobility delegates highlighted the unique benefits of ACROSS mobility, emphasizing how these experiences strengthen academic skills, foster international collaboration, and expand professional networks. Students who had previously participated in ACROSS programs shared their experiences, inspiring their peers to take advantage of these opportunities.
Voices from Across Europe
The International Days also featured online participation from ACROSS partners. During the DPIA and DMIF meetings, Prof. Oliver Sachs joined from the Technische Universität Chemnitz (Germany), and during the DI4A meeting, Prof. Lorena Butinar from the University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia) shared insights. Both stressed the importance of the Alliance, which relies on close collaboration between academic and administrative staff and aims to enhance student mobility across Europe.
Looking Ahead: Strengthening ACROSS Mobility
These International Days are designed to:
- Increase student participation in ACROSS mobility programs.
- Raise awareness of the unique opportunities offered by the Alliance and help students plan international experiences within their academic careers.
- Strengthen the visibility and recognition of the ACROSS Alliance as a leader in European academic collaboration.
Through initiatives like these, the University of Udine continues to empower students to explore the world, broaden their academic horizons, and engage deeply with the ACROSS Alliance network.
