Within the framework of the “Silvia Gobbato Memorial Prize” – and, specifically, in implementation of the Across Grant Agreement, which explicitly provides for the establishment of an “Across Award” within the Alliance – the University of Udine introduces a dedicated section entitled “Across Award”.
This initiative is launched in collaboration with the Across Alliance, a transnational partnership bringing together the following universities: Chemnitz University of Technology, University of Ruse, University of Craiova, Bialystok University of Technology, University of Nova Gorica, University of Girona, University of Perpignan Via Domitia, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and University of Banja Luka.
The Across Award is rooted in the belief that universities not only transmit knowledge, but also uphold fundamental values: equality, respect, inclusion and the protection of human dignity. Celebrating research inspired by these principles means reinforcing the cultural and ethical foundations of our academic communities across borders.
Purpose of the Award
The Across Award aims to recognise and reward outstanding Bachelor’s or Master’s theses discussing topics connected to the themes of the Silvia Gobbato Memorial Prize, including but not limited to:
- gender equality;
- gender-based violence;
- non-discrimination in education or the workplace;
- diversity and inclusion;
- protection of vulnerable individuals and groups;
- equal opportunities policies.
The Award seeks to promote awareness, academic research and critical reflection on these issues among the students from the universities that are part of the Across Alliance.
Eligibility
This section is open to all students enrolled in any of the universities participating in the Across Alliance, who have defended a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis on the topics listed above.
Eligible theses must have been defended during the 2024/2025 academic year, including those defended up to 31 October 2025.
