Across Summer Schools: Call for Proposals (2026)

03.
April 2026

The Across Alliance invites all partner universities to submit proposals for Across Summer Schools to be organised within the Alliance framework in 2026-2028.

The call will be organised annually.

Objective

To catalyze cross-border academic synergy, broaden international mobility, and deliver a transformative educational and cultural journey for students, directly advancing the mission of Across as a European University Alliance.

Scope of the Call

We seek proposals for Across Summer Schools that offer high-quality, intensive, international learning experiences for students from Across member institutions.

Each proposal should include:

  • Clear academic objectives and theme
  • Planned learning outcomes
  • Mobility plan for participants
  • Budget and resource needs (including scholarships for participants)
  • Indication of host institution and dates

Funding Available

The Across Alliance provides funding to support the organisation of up to 6 Summer Schools, each for a maximum of 15 participants.

Funding includes:

Organisational support:

  • €166.67 per participant
  • (6 Summer Schools × 15 participants × €166.67)

Mobility grants for students:

  • €741.67 per participant
  • (covering travel, per diem, and subsistence costs)

Available funding is limited; therefore, submitted proposals will be evaluated and selected competitively.

Eligibility

All nine full partner universities of the Across Alliance are eligible to submit a proposal, provided that at least three Across partner universities are involved in the delivery of a Summer School.

This means that, in addition to the host institution, lecturers from at least two other Across partner universities should participate.

Selection Criteria

All eligible proposals will be evaluated through a competitive review process.

Each proposal will be assessed against the following criteria:

  1. Academic quality and relevance to the four Focus Areas – max. 5 points
  2. Feasibility and clarity of the implementation plan – max. 5 points
  3. Appropriate and justified budget – max. 5 points

Total maximum score: 15 points

Proposals will be ranked according to their total score. Funding will be allocated to the highest-ranked proposals until the available budget is exhausted.

In the event of equal scores, priority may be given to proposals demonstrating stronger cross-border integration and greater expected impact on student experience.
