UNG: University of Nova Gorica expands the visibility of the Across Alliance across Europe
In recent months, University of Nova Gorica has taken part in numerous educational fairs and events at schools across Europe, where, in addition to presenting its study programmes, it placed special emphasis on showcasing the opportunities offered to students through the Across European University Alliance.
In October, as part of the Study in Slovenia initiative and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana, we presented our university in Tirana, Albania, at the international Study in Europe fair. We presented the visitors the advantages of studying at the University of Nova Gorica and highlighted the unique mobility, cooperation, and international study opportunities enabled by the Across Alliance. This was followed by the Balkan Edu Expo fair in Belgrade, Serbia, where we the prospective students from Serbia were informed about the benefits that studying at the University of Nova Gorica can bring them, as well as about the advantages of participating in the Across Alliance activities.
Our activities then continued in Bulgaria, where we, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Sofia, visited secondary schools in Pernik, Blagoevgrad, and Sofia. Through Study in Slovenia presentations, discussions and quizzes the aspiring youngsters learned everything about studying at Slovenian universities, including the mobility opportunities provided through Erasmus+ programmes and other projects, such as the Across Alliance.
Also the students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Secondary School Centre in Vogošća and the 28th June Secondary School in East Sarajevo, showed great interest in the interdisciplinary study programmes of the University of Nova Gorica and also in expanding their horizons through European mobility experience, also at Across member universities.
<The final stop of our activities was North Macedonia, where we first visited the Kole Nehtenin Secondary School in Štip, with which the University of Nova Gorica has had years’ long cooperation. Moreover, as part of the Study in Slovenia initiative and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Skopje, we also held a presentation for prospective students in Skopje. We presented the advantages of studying in Slovenia, the importance of international cooperation, and the many opportunities offered by the Across Alliance in the form of mobility, enriched study options, joint projects, and summer and winter schools.
Through these presentations at fairs and schools, the University of Nova Gorica continues to strengthen its visibility and the visibility of the Across Alliance across Europe, while also bringing closer to prospective students the mobility opportunities, international cooperation, and rich study opportunities offered by the alliance.
