PB: Across Student’s Fair Day: New Learning Pathways for a Global Generation
Białystok University of Technology (BUT) showcased the full spectrum of opportunities offered by the European University Across during Across Student’s Fair Day, held on 21 November 2025. The hybrid event – part of Work Package 2.3 on cross-border and cross-sector mobility – brought together students and partner universities from Spain, Germany, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting opened with Prof. Dorota Anna Krawczyk, Across Coordinator at PB. Grażyna Jakimiuk from the Across office then introduced students to the alliance’s academic offer, including online courses, short- and long-term mobilities, study visits, and international summer schools.
Partner institutions – the University of Girona, Chemnitz University of Technology, and the University of Banja Luka – presented their programmes, while BUT students shared insights from study visits to Banja Luka and Udine, as well as the 2025 International Summer School in Bialystok.
Student perspectives were a key highlight.
Landscape architecture student Natalia Pietruczuk described the summer school as an intensive learning experience with global teaching staff, noting that international collaboration breaks language barriers: “Knowing English is enough to communicate with everyone.”
Her colleague Sebastian Trocki emphasised hands-on work in sustainable public-space design and the cultural value of Across initiatives.
Reflecting on a study visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Andrzej Dudziński highlighted the long-term value of academic partnerships: “The connections we made still bring results and will continue to do so.”
In the second part of the event, Dr. Dorota Gawryluk presented the academic benefits of the alliance: “This shared teaching offer is a real ‘wow’. Our students gain easy access to courses across all Across universities.” She noted that mobilities are already underway, with the first Across Summer School and multiple study visits completed this year.
The event concluded with a knowledge quiz about Across. BUT announced further initiatives promoting international cooperation, marking a new stage in the university’s global engagement.
