Across Task Team Meeting in Perpignan Strengthens International Collaboration
From January 22 to 24, 2025, the Université de Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD) welcomed representatives from all nine Across Alliance partner universities for a productive work meeting. Over 90 participants from nine countries gathered in Perpignan to discuss strategies and take the next steps in advancing the European University Alliance’s mission.
The meeting featured a robust onboarding session for over 60 new colleagues, introducing them to the core principles of Across, including governance structures, collaborative work plans, and the use of digital tools. The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen connections between Task Teams and Work Package Leaders, ensuring effective coordination across the alliance.
Thanks to the warm hospitality of the UPVD team, participants were not only able to engage in meaningful discussions but also enjoy memorable networking opportunities. Highlights included a guided tour of the UPVD campus and a visit to the picturesque coastal town of Collioure, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose among attendees.
The official opening ceremony on January 23, led by UPVD President Prof. Dr. Yvan Auguet, set the tone for a productive event. Following his welcome address, the Chemnitz project team provided an overview of the alliance’s goals and structure, emphasizing its commitment to innovation, collaboration, and student-centered progress. The second day of the meeting focused on detailed planning, where alliance members collaborated to align work plans, refine strategies, and address interdependencies within the work packages.
Looking Ahead: Chemnitz Meeting in March 2025
The meeting in Perpignan also served as preparation for the next milestone in the alliance’s journey. From March 4 to 6, 2025, the Across Alliance will convene at TU Chemnitz for the official project launch. Over 200 participants are expected to attend this key event, which will feature an opening ceremony and further strategic planning sessions aimed at enhancing education, research, and cross-border collaboration.
