On 15 June 2026, the Across Rectors Board met online to review the Alliance’s progress, discuss strategic priorities and prepare the next stages of project implementation.

Bringing together the Rectors and Presidents of the Across partner universities, the meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on recent achievements and ongoing developments across the project.

Among the highlights presented were the continued implementation of the Across eCampus, the continues development of the Knowledge Creation Teams, further activities connected to the Across Think Tank, and the successful deployment of the Teacher Training Academy, which now offers its first set of digital and blended teacher training opportunities through the eCampus.

The Rectors Board also welcomed the presentation of the Joint Strategy for Multilingualism Management, a key initiative designed to foster a coordinated multilingual ecosystem across the Alliance. The strategy promotes equitable linguistic access, supports staff and student mobility, encourages linguistic diversity and provides a common framework that can be adapted to each partner university’s institutional context.

The meeting also highlighted the positive progress made across the project’s work packages. Recent deliverables showcased significant achievements in governance, digital infrastructure, research collaboration and innovation.

In addition, the Rectors discussed recent developments at European level, including the growing importance of micro-credentials, the European Degree Label, artificial intelligence in higher education and preparations for the next funding phase of the European Universities Initiative.

The meeting concluded with preparations for the next Across Rectors Board meeting, which will take place in Brussels from 10 to 12 November 2026. Hosted by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Representation with the support of the University of Udine (UNIUD), the meeting will bring together the Alliance leadership and key European stakeholders to discuss strategic topics shaping the future of European higher education and cross-border university cooperation.
