All Across partners are constantly working to continue the work we have started. Undoubtedly, one important aspect is finding the funding to turn our ideas into reality.

The Across Alliance is dedicated to fostering an active European university community through investments of time, financial resources, and people power. Third-party funding plays a crucial role in sustaining our collaborative endeavors, supporting various initiatives that advance our shared objectives and enhance our impact.

Generous funding from the German DAAD has enabled us to organize 8 successful Summer Schools, facilitate numerous Executive Board meetings, launch this website, support publications, and cover essential staff costs.

In line with our commitment to innovation and collaboration, the Across Alliance has recently submitted two project proposals under the Erasmus+ funding opportunities, each with distinct aims and objectives.

Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships

Another notable initiative is the “Guiding cotutelle doctoral training under the principles of inclusion and diversity within a European university alliance” submitted on March 7, 2024, and led by the University of Girona in Catalonia, Spain. This partnership project aims to examine the current landscape of cotutelle doctorates within European university alliances and provide valuable tools and resources to support inclusive doctoral candidates. With support from five Across partners and the European University Association – Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE), the project is poised to make significant contributions to doctoral education.

Alliances for Innovation

One of these proposals, the “Alliance for Education in Quantum Computing and Communication,” submitted on March 9, 2024, and spearheaded by the University of Craiova in Romania, aims to pioneer training materials and cultivate expertise in quantum communication. Collaborating with five Across partners and several external stakeholders, including vocational education and training providers, media companies, and university networks, the project addresses emerging challenges in this cutting-edge field.

These applications not only demonstrate our commitment to innovation but also strengthen our engagement for structural funds, such as funding for European University Alliances. We eagerly await the results of the calls, which will be announced this summer. Stay informed with updates from Across Alliance!
