Objectives of the GLOCAL course are:
- Study and understanding of modern construction techniques and installation systems and technologies, with particular emphasis on the advantages of their use from the point of view of sustainable urban development.
- Study the possibility of using these techniques in current modernisation construction works in order to make them as sustainable as possible from the point of view of environmental protection.
In order to achieve the goals, during face-to-face classes students will learn about the modern and traditional architecture of local Białystok and global of the world, and become familiar with the latest technologies and building installations, including blue-green infrastructure and their impact on contemporary architecture. The discussion seminar will focus on pros and cons of analysed solutions. They will help students to conduct comprehensive analysis taking into account different aspects: technical, economic ecological, social, climatic or law to choose the best energy effective solution in future. Each year lecturers from various European universities from Poland, Italy, Spain and other countries used to be tutors on Glocal course.
Students will work in 3-4-person international teams to ensure an international and interdisciplinary environment. Nowadays, creative thinking, language skills and facility to cooperate are indispensable to work on the international labour market.
