This call invites scholarly contributions for a CESCI-organised panel supported by the European Commission at the ABS 2026 Annual Conference, focusing on how the economic benefits generated through cross-border cooperation can be analysed, measured and mobilised to support the financing of such cooperation.
The submitted extended abstracts should align with the accompanying background document and may address topics such as the costs of non- cooperation, the economic effects of cross-border public services, financial modelling of savings or additional revenues, and governance arrangements for reinvesting these gains.
Within this scope, theoretical contributions, empirical case studies, analyses of specific border regions, and calculation or simulation models measuring the financial impacts of cross-border services are expected with preference given to European cases
